Day 1: Alison Cosmetics
I’m the owner of Alison Cosmetics and I’m looking to commission a new logo design for my online beauty store. It's hosted on viaGlamour (check it out!) and their print team needs the logo to print on my cosmetics, engravings, use on storefront, and emails. My previous logo was just a boring font and was barely readable when used as a profile picture on our company’s social media accounts. I was hoping you could make our products more memorable with an eye-catching logo design!
We mostly sell skincare products and cosmetics that include lipsticks, eyeshadows, blushes, and eyeliners. All of the products are vegan, and we’re well known for our limited edition subscription box where we sell several of our best-selling cosmetics in a curated package.
The store mostly uses soft colors, ranging from pinks to purples, so I’d prefer to stick to similar tones in order for the store’s visuals to feel consistent. I’m not interested in any cursive typefaces - I just don’t think it would be legible on our website.
In addition, your design will most likely be printed on the bottom of our cosmetics. The printing area would be around 2cm by 2cm on a black surface, and it would be amazing to get a logo design that can fit into this tight space.
I’m excited to see what you come up with!
Day 2: Zelda Guide
I represent ZeldaGuide - a small publisher of videos, articles, and community events around Legend of Zelda games.
Honestly, we are having issues deciding on a set of visuals for the site. We’re often switching our header image at random, our logo has no relation to the games we produce content for, and visitors often confuse our site with similar blogs.
We need a visual identity that represents our website clearly.
Firstly, the new logo should avoid using the stereotypical Legend of Zelda typeface. We want to forge our own identity without being too dependent on another established brand. On the same topic, I want to personally avoid any copyright issues with Nintendo.
If we decide to create a symbol for the primary logo design, I want it to use similar color palettes, stylistic references, and visual language from the Zelda franchise.
We’re also interested in starting a t-shirt shop to diversify our revenue. Your logo would be the first design that we create merchandise with! This will force the final logo to use a maximum of three colors in order to produce merchandise with a screen-printing process.
I can’t wait to see how you decide to design our logo.
Day 3: Triple WP
I want to work with you on a logo design for a startup I’m launching this fall - TripleWP.
For the last two years I’ve been working on a new application that simplifies the user experience of developing a website within Wordpress.
I choose the name TripleWP since our first beta users were able to design and update their websites around three times faster than the traditional method of writing code. The WP part of the company name is a standard abbreviation of Wordpress and is an indicator to our audience of where the software can be installed.
I really want to get a visual identity that is friendly, not intimidating and incorporates a typeface that reflects our cutting-edge tech. The Cloudflare logo is a great example of these ideals. In addition, a majority of the application has already been designed around a blue, white, and black color scheme that the logo should also use.
I’m not against having the design be abstract; I know it’s impossible to convey all of the software’s features in a single symbol.
You should enough information to design a great logo! I’ve attached some references for visual inspiration.
I’m excited to see your logo proposal!
Day 4: Freight First
We have a really important project at Freight First that needs your immediate input. The entire company is pitching a new roadmap for investors tomorrow, and we need a logo design to solidify the presentation. It’s last minute, but we know you’re the best designer for the job.
Our company is an intermediary freight broker between a shipper who has goods to transport and a trucking company who has the capacity to move their product from point A to point B. There are plenty of brokerages out there already, but we specialize in finding optimal routes for sensitive cargo that requires ongoing monitoring and comprehensive insurance coverage.
The entire company is built on the foundations of trust and security with our clients, and the logo design has to reflect these core values. It needs to be a design that gives viewers a sense of trust that their delivery is handled by professional agents that understand how to transport cargo using safe and secure practices.
I attached a few references that describe our target visual aesthetic.
We’re not looking for a logo that is eye-catching or even colorful. It just has to convey the company’s industry experience and professional services. Ps: I’m not opposed to the idea of replacing the ‘First’ in our company name with the number ’1’.
Day 5: Sushi Zen
I’m the owner of a small sushi restaurant, Sushi Zen, and I need a designer to create the logo design for my signage, menus, and serveware.
We use traditional cooking practices in our restaurant and are recognized by local food critics for our artisanal dish selections. Everything is prepared in-house and is always served fresh.
I need a logo design that expresses our restaurant’s focus on authentic food.
Day 6: Slash Films
I’m a producer at Slash Films and the entire team is eager to get a new logo design. For a company that specializes in providing camera equipment and props to film crews, we really shouldn’t be using the Arial typeface as our main logo.
We want you to produce a logo design that will be used on our business cards, vinyl stickers on rental equipment, and can be featured in the closing credits of films we contributed to producing.
I collected a few inspiring images from our favorite movies, but you’re welcome to stray from those references. We genuinely need a logo design that conveys our ‘thrilling’ services to potential clients on a first glance.
However, we still want to maintain a professional appearance with our clients and want to avoid using violent graphic imagery in the final logo design.
I’m dying to see your pitch!
Day 7: R Visualizations
I’m the owner of R Visualizations, a photorealistic architecture visualization firm in Santa Monica, California. We recently merged with another company that offers engineering services, and we need a new logo design that combines aspects of both companies.
We are all about the creative communication of architecture, urban design, landscape planning, real estate development and digital media. Clients often come to our studio to visualize new architecture concepts in VR, provide previews for sales teams, and generally work with engineers to provide breathtaking photography of the spaces being constructed.
The new logo design should feel very modern, lightweight, and illustrate our 3D specialty. We’re always going to offer visualization services as our core product and the logo should reflect that.
I’ve attached a few images from our portfolio.
Can’t wait to see your take on a modern logo design for our relatively new company.
Day 8: Shenzen Bubble Tea
I am the owner of Shenzhen Bubble Tea! We operate over a hundred little kiosks over the city that sell assorted Bubble Tea beverages. We started only a few months ago and we’re growing quickly as our brand is becoming very popular!
Our current logo is a bubbly typeface that we love, but it’s incredibly hard to read from the distance and isn’t immediately obvious that we sell bubble tea on first glance. I want a symbol-based logo of a bubble tea icon that we can use on our cart’s signage and menu.
Ideally, the design can also be modified to represent different kinds of bubble tea types that have different milks, sugar levels, temperatures, and ice amounts. I was thinking we have a primary variation of the logo and small spinoffs to describe the different bubble teas on our menu.
I also want to keep the logo design super-friendly so existing customers can recognize us after the rebranding. After all, our staff are well-known for their cheerful and helpful attitudes! It’s part of the reason why our brand of Bubble Tea is a family-favorite across Shenzhen, China!
I’m hoping you can design a friendly logo to improve our business.
Day 9: Scarlet VFX Studio
I represent a visual effects studio from Manhattan and we’re hoping to work with you on a new visual identity for Scarlet. For the last several years we have been developing software for client projects, and we’re going to split the company into two divisions, Scarlet VFX and Scarlet Raycast. We need a responsive logo design for Scarlet that can be easily modified to represent any division with our company.
One of the company’s sections will still be focused on providing visual effects for film projects that previously included Mad Max, King Kong, and Stranger Things. The new division will be responsible for developing computer software to increase the speeds at which mocap and facial animation can be recorded.
In the future, we’re looking to kickstart several other projects within the company and we want the logo to be easily adaptable to fit any purpose, company division, or internal project. From software development to rendering farms, we want our logo to be flexible in its usage.
Day 10: Retro Prints
I’m very happy that we met at Comic-Con! I was actually looking for an artist and your previous works are a perfect example of the visual identity style I’m looking to develop for Retro Prints.
We’re a small printing house in San Francisco that sells limited edition poster prints and merchandise of classic films and comics drawn by artists internationally. An artist might approach us with new artwork that fits our niche, we’ll print their art, offer it as a limited-edition product on our site, and then fulfill all of the customer orders at the end of the sale period.
We need a new logo design that ties together our artist-powered community and the retro culture that inspired our company to start. Personally, I want something with vibrant colors and draws inspiration from classic retro poster designs.
You do amazing work, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with. I threw together a large Pinterest board of work we’ve been printing in the last few months.
Day 11: Vortex Analytics
I would like to commision a logo for Vortex Analytics from you.
We’re a modern big data analytics company that logs user data from a website and converts it to readable information that can be used to improve sales, leads, pitches, and user experiences.
Previously, companies had to write their own solutions to understand what their users were doing on the site. With Vortex Analytics, developers can input a single line of Javascript into the header of their website and start receiving in-depth case studies about the website’s performance.
We need a logo that conveys our company goals of providing clarity and being accessible by any skill level. I would love to use a gradient color scheme in the logo and utilize the Roboto typeface because our website developer used it for the entire site design.
The data we provide to companies and clients can be game-changing for providing insight into company decisions. However, it’s rare that our service is used to measure small statistics such as Facebook likes or page views. We’re focused on combining several properties such engagement levels and IP lookups to provide detailed views into a company’s data. Because of this, the logo should avoid using stereotypical charts and pie graphics as it’s iconography.
The logo needs to showcase our detail-oriented philosophy and the insights our software can provide for clients. I’m intrigued to see your logo interpretation of our company.
Day 12: Crisp Decor
I run a small Tumblr blog about Interior decor and I want to hire you to produce a visual identity for it! It has been slowing accumulating a large following and I want to start expanding my posts and commentaries to other platforms such as Medium and Instagram. However, I want to have a logo design I can use for followers to recognize my blog when they come across my content on another site.
Crisp Decor mainly focuses on commentary about recently released decor products and curated galleries that are submitted by the community. We have a niche in exploring minimal decor.
I’m hoping you can come up with a perfect solution for a logo design before I begin expanding my blog to new platforms and mediums.
Day 13: 360 Sound
I’m the owner of Sound 360! We’re a hardware startup that develops speakers that can map 360-degree videos onto stereo speakers for interactive events. We’re popular with video creators using Youtube’s 360 video technology and Google’s VR cardboard product line! was hoping you could tackle our logo design project and help our brand look next-generation!
The logo would mainly be displayed on a black colored surface and needs to convey the speaker’s 360-degree feature. It doesn’t have to incorporate the idea of speakers, but I do want to visually represent the vastness of space and sound our speakers can create for a listener. A majority of our brand assets that we use for conventions use circular geometry, so it would be great to produce a design with that in mind.
I’d also love to use a typeface that combines the stereotypes of science-fiction fonts and modern sans-serifs. After all, we consider ourselves to be developing the future of interactive audio equipment and experiences.
Excited to see how you design the logo.
Day 14: Radnika Foundry
I’m opening up a new type foundry and I’d love to have you design the visual identity for the company - my name is Alice by the way! I’ve been designing typefaces for the last five years and I finally want to open my own online store where I can sell my work.
A majority of my typefaces range from calligraphy to unique handwriting styles. I rarely create any standard sans-serif or serif typefaces these days.
The logo will be primarily used on my website and replace characters of a font when someone downloads a demo version. For example, I often replace the ampersand in my typeface with a logo to show the user that they haven’t properly bought a license for commercial use. Your design would have to work on a small scale so I can use it for this purpose!
I’m hoping you can design the perfect logo for my business!
Day 15: Ethereum Academics
I hope you’re a crypto enthusiast because we have a seriously great project that needs your creativity. I’m the CEO of Ethereum Academics, an online school that teaches computer science students how to code on the Ethereum network. Our classes teach students everything from project management to developing smart contracts for blockchain technology companies.
We’ve already enrolled over 400 students in our first week already! I want to invest in a new visual identity before we start to receive press coverage on our initiative to educate students on Ethereum development practices.
The logo should combine the idea of education and the existing Ethereum logo. I want my company to be easily recognizable as a business working with in the Ethereum space.
I’m attaching a few references to this project.
I’d love to experiment with a logo that showcases learning without any stereotypical images of brains or graduation hats. Our courses are very intense and we don’t want to visually mislead students that we’re playful or beginner-oriented in any way. I would also prefer sticking to the established Ethereum color scheme.
Working with you is going to be great, I can’t wait to see your design.
Day 17: Authentically Canadian
My name is Henry, and I represent the company Authentically Canadian.
We are a certification program that provides an identifiable label for companies to use on their products to proudly verify that their products were fully made in Canada.
The program is sponsored by the Government of Canada to encourage consumers to purchase local goods over imported ones. It’s a simple sticker or online label that any business can start adding to their products if they pass our verification inquiries.
We’re looking for a simple mark that reads “Authentically Canadian - From Sea to Sea”. It should definitely feature a prominent Canadian icon such as the red maple leaf.
You can expect companies to use this logo on their products as a sticker, a small label on a website footer, or on shipping boxes provided by Canada Post.
Day 16: Faaashion
I run a fashion blog and we want to produce a set of limited edition pins with our logo. There is only one problem - we don’t have a logo! I’ve always just used a cursive font for the website’s banner, but it’s time to rethink our branding.
The blog is a curated gallery of upcoming fashion trends and photography taken by the blog’s panel of moderators. Many of our posts have a focus on urban styles, modern fashion, and streetwear for both men and women.
I’d love for you to create a logo that showcases our fashion tastes in a unique symbol that we could use to produce merchandise. Please make sure this logo could be properly developed into a pin. It needs to be designed on a solid form such as a circle or a rectangle, otherwise, the manufacturer won’t be able to properly mold its shape. I’m also limited to only three colors, so please don’t use any gradients!
I’m going to attach a few of our most popular posts for your visual reference.
Super excited about this design!
Day 18: LaserCut
I’m the Product Manager at KCM Waterjet and we’re looking to purchase a new logo for our upcoming launch. We are located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and specialize in abrasive machining using the latest in computer controlled CAD/CAM and multi-headed machines. We use two of nature’s own elements; water and highly refined abrasive, propelled at three times the speed of sound, to make incredibly accurate and precise cuts in virtually any material.
We’re mostly in the business of providing an alternative method to 3D printing.
The logo should be simple and convey our service of creating highly detailed molds, jigs, and equipment from any 3D file that is supplied to us. Customers are rarely familiar with our WaterJet technology, so I want to avoid heavily relying on visual references to water. I think it would be best to convey sharp edges, craftsmanship, or the idea of 3D printing within the new logo design.
I’m relying on you to craft a logo we can use for many years.
Day 20: Quantum
I hope this email reaches you well.
I’m from a small company in Germany that develops open-source frameworks for PHP developers to use when creating online applications.
We want to produce a logo for our newest PHP framework, Quantum. It operates 10x faster than our previous releases, developers can use it to build their applications faster, and our community can easily add custom extensions that grow the base framework.
The logo should be extremely minimal and reflect the stable structure of the code we’re releasing to the public. Our core demographic mainly consists of experienced engineers so the logo shouldn’t have visual references that make it attention-grabbing or childish. The logo will be displayed on our Github repository and various documentation.
Hopefully, you can design a memorable logo that will connect our community together.
Day 19: TabSpace
I’m developing a new Mac OS X program called TabSpace that simplifies the process of debugging code for software engineers. It seamlessly connects to Github and Zendesk to empower a programmer and Zendesk to empower a programmer to quickly understand the issues that have to be solved, merge new updates directly into GitHub, and alert the customer support team with resolved problems.
The software is receiving positive traction in smaller startups where it’s important for engineers to communicate with the customer support and sales staff about problems that have been resolved in the product’s codebase.
The software needs a logo before we ship the first official release to our clients. We need a logo variation that can be used on our website that uses the company name, and another variation that can be used as the icon for the program.
Day 21: PaperPack
I’m interested in working with you on a logo for a company I own called PaperPack. We sell custom-made packaging, trays, and inserts for our customers worldwide. Our facility is well-known for our ability to produce products that are made from bagasse, bamboo, wood, wheat straw, recycled carton, and waste paper. These ingredients are much more environmentally friendly than the plastic trays being produced elsewhere.
We need a new logo and business cards for our employees to differentiate ourselves from the competition on Alibaba. Our leads often confuse our services with other companies because of similar logos and company names.
Hopefully, you can resolve this problem for us!
Day 22: JP Lettering
I’m the owner of JP lettering, a small studio in Vancouver that specializes in murals and hand-lettering typography. We’re a collective of artists doing what we love!
We’re looking to get a new logo design that can be used as our initials on any new murals or paintings that we produce for companies. It’s important that potential customers can easily find our contact information so we can continue growing organically through worth-of-mouth referrals.
Our ideal logo should work in black & white and be very easy to read from any viewing angle! It should also feature our website name (www.JP-lettering.ca) to further increase our chances of landing new clients.
Best,
Roger Lora
Day 23: Tricks + Flips
I’m Tommy from skateboarding merchandise shop TRICKS & FLIPS, and we want to get a new logo design before we open our first physical retail store in LA. We’ve always operated pop up shops, so this is a huge deal for us!
We partner with large skateboarding media outlets and personalities to develop custom-made merchandise for their brand. Our shop produces everything from custom decks to the world’s most comfortable fleece-hoodies. Ps: We would love to send you one!
I’m interested in exploring a logo design that incorporates a globe to represent our international community or a stereotypical merchandise icon that feels hand drawn with a brush. There will be a few visual references attaches.
Pumped to be working with you on this design project.
Best,
Jesse Flox
Day 24: Florals
I’m the owner of a small game development studio, Florals! We produce small, bite-sized IOS games about human relationships. The games are always interactive story-based experience that anyone can enjoy on a mobile device.
We need a new logo design to connect all of our projects together with a memorable icon. It would be used on product pages for all of the titles we’ve produced so far, and replace our generic loading icon.
If I had to describe the perfect logo design, I’d remark on the yellow color palette, soothing visuals, and simplicity. I want to avoid anything that feels retro, relating to a textile shop, or even futuristic. In the past, we’ve used daisy flowers as our primary icon and it might be worthwhile to revisit that idea.
Thanks for taking our project!
Rose Terri
Day 26: Hiatus HR
I’m from Hiatus HR, a company that is making human resource services accessible to smaller startups. We build software for executives to manage their employees’ benefits, paychecks, company benefits, and feedback in one easy-to-access interface.
We don’t have any exact specifications for the logo design. However, the design should be consumer-friendly and convey our personal values of improving the modern workplace by introducing transparency in the human resources department.
I’ve attached some visual references to kickstart the project.
It’s going to be great to work with you.
Best,
Zack Lait
Day 25: Concerto
Concerto needs a new logo and I think you’re the perfect designer for this job. We’re a company that provides SMS updates when your favorite local artists are about to announce a tour in your city. It automatically integrates with popular music streaming sites, recommends the best seats in venues, and automatically knows which tickets it should hold for you.
This service needs a new logo because our current logo is often confused with Spotify’s icon. We need to develop our own identity without relying on other brands for recognizability.
The logo should definitely convey the aspect of music, concerts, and possibly tickets. Our Concerto service relies on Facebook messenger to deliver messages, so it would optimal to make the design very user-friendly as well. Our customers should feel comfortable exchanging credit card information with the Concerto chatbot.
I’m excited to work with you.
Mel Remmings
Day 27: Hyperfoil Clothing
I’m a fashion designer running an independent clothing business called HyperFoil. We proud ourselves on developing clothing with futuristic aesthetics. I was actually responsible for art directing the fashion design in Blade Runner 2049!
We’re looking for a stylish logo that can be used for our clothing tags and other fashion accessories. The logo has to be futuristic, really utilize the visual aesthetic of hard-surface design, and easily work on small surfaces such as metallic zippers.
I’m attaching a few references to this thread, hoping you can produce our design.
Best,
Allen Covary
Day 28: TXT
I want to hire you for an internal project at BlueTop Labs for a visual identity. For the last few months, we’ve been quietly working on a new application that makes the task of note taking and communication within large teams easier.
It’s a custom-built app that is installed on a company’s subdomain where employees can log in to discuss sensitive company information, brainstorm project ideas, leave anonymous feedback on company decisions, and produce personal calendars for tasks assigned to them.
We’re thinking of calling the application ‘TXT’.
So far it’s only going to be used at BlueTop Labs, but our management is considering developing the tool into its own product available for enterprise companies to license.
We need you to develop a logo for this project and plan a consistent color scheme our software developers can use to polish the application’s design. It should be bold, easy to read, and memorable on first glance. Our target demographic are large corporations, so we want to avoid anything that is over-complicated or untrustworthy.
Hoping you can take our project to the next level.
Kim Bernard
Day 29: Trim VFX Studio
I’m the owner of visual effects studio Trim VFX and we’re looking for a new company logo as we begin to shift our entire focus primarily on fictional user interfaces. We have always accepted general effects work, but we want to transition into the FUI niche.
FUI is commonly used in films when characters interact with futuristic screens, holographic interfaces, and other display to showcase a specific message that compliments the story. For example, in our work for Star Wars we were responsible for conveying the urgency of an imminent attack through the designs displayed on-screen.
I’m attaching a few examples of prominent FUI works.
The studio needs a new logo design that focuses on our niche by integrating an FUI element into our brand identity. Looking forward to seeing what you can produce!
Best,
Ben Watts
Day 30: Compilation Post
Congratulations on completing the Logocore Thirty Day Logo Challenge!
Your last challenge is to create a Behance presentation from your recent logo designs! Collect all of your logos togeather and compile a post of all the logos you created for this challenge.
